This tournament was named in tribute to Claude Mayer, a man from Noëlville. Renowned for his perseverance and dedication, Claude Mayer was a man of conviction who worked in several spheres, including the community sectors, cooperation, education, politics, economics, and more. Claude Mayer, who died in 2019, was one of the first administrators and treasurers of the SÉO.

Claude Mayer Memorial Golf Tournament, 2nd edition
Following the success of the first edition, held on Friday, September 22, 2023, the 2024 edition of the Claude-Mayer Commemorative Golf Tournament took place on Friday, May 31. This unifying event, organized by the Société Économique de l'Ontario, was a great opportunity for business people, investors, members of organizations and key individuals from all over the province to exchange ideas and develop relationships in a venue conducive to relaxation, exchanges and the creation of links!
This second edition was held at Forest Ridge Golf Course, 3525 Forest Ridge Street, Chelmsford, Ontario, in a best-ball format, and brought together participants from a wide range of backgrounds.
Golf enthusiasts put their skills to the test in the company of teammates from all sectors of activity. As for novices, they were able to discover this enjoyable sport in a setting conducive to the creation of business relationships. A dinner was planned to round off the day in style and allow guests to extend the exchanges. After the golf tournament, guests enjoyed an evening of networking with players from all over Ontario.
