The SÉO names new Executive Director
OTTAWA, March 26, 2021–Société Économique de l’Ontario (SÉO) president, Denis Laframboise, announces the appointment of Patrick Cloutier as Executive Director.
“The OSB is very pleased with Mr. Cloutier's appointment as Executive Director,” said Mr. Laframboise. “His many years of experience at the SEO, his strong management skills, his interpersonal skills and his leadership will serve him well in his new position. The Board of Directors and I congratulate him and wish him well!”
Hired as Controller in 2002, he was later promoted to Director of Finance and Operations. He has served as interim Executive Director of the organization since November 2020.
“It is with great pride and passion that I begin my mandate as Executive Director,” added Mr. Cloutier. “I am committed to the organization and its mission, and I know that I can count on competent, passionate and dedicated employees to accompany me during my mandate and to move the organization forward.”
About the SÉO
The SÉO offers several programs related to employability and immigration, entrepreneurship and economic development. More specifically, it helps Francophone and bilingual immigrants access the Ontario job market. It accompanies entrepreneurs by providing them with resources and support. It also helps entrepreneurs in their quest for employees. Finally, it supports Francophone and bilingual communities by proposing or supporting economic development projects.
In order to carry out its multiple mandates, the SÉO initiates or participates in various projects in several sectors, including the tourism sector. One of these initiatives is Route Champlain, a network of some 60 destinations in Ontario where tourists can be welcomed and served in French.
