The SÉO and its partners welcome applications for the Francophone Tourism Recovery Program
OTTAWA - May 27, 2021 - A new pandemic-related expense reimbursement program is available for Francophone small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or non-profit organizations (NPOs) operating in the tourism sector in Southwestern Ontario, excluding the Greater Toronto Area.
Under the Francophone Tourism Recovery Program, eligible SMEs or NPOs can receive up to $20,000 and be reimbursed an amount of up to 80 per cent of expenses incurred as a result of the pandemic.
The program was developed by the Société Économique de l’Ontario (SÉO), in partnership with the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO), the Assemblée de la francophonie de l'Ontario (AFO) and the three bilingual Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in Southwestern Ontario.
Eligible expenses must have been incurred on or after June 1, 2020. They must be related to the implementation of health and safety protocols, modifications required by social distancing measures, the purchase of personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies for workers, and the implementation of digital transformation tools.
The deadline to apply is December 31, 2021, or until funds are exhausted, and on a rolling project submission basis.
